Over 40 years of ice equipment manufacturing experience

Overview of ENGO Development History

In 1979, ENGO was founded as a small machinery factory and commenced operations in Terenten, Puster Valley, Italy.

In 1980, Engo became Italy's first enterprise to develop and produce ice resurfacers. Meanwhile, it began manufacturing durable fiberglass-reinforced plastic dasherboards for ice sports.

In 1985, Engo launched engines specifically developed for ice resurfacers dedicated to speed skating. By 1986, its business scope expanded steadily to cover professional ice sports accessories. In 1987, Engo achieved its first exports to Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the Scandinavian region including Sweden and Finland. In 1990, electric drive units featured high safety performance and produced no harmful emissions, which were vital to ensuring personnel safety in enclosed ice rinks and served as an ideal alternative to fuel-powered equipment. Following this trend, various compact ice resurfacers were successively rolled out. While continuing to focus on ice resurfacers, Engo also launched a versatile detachable ice rink dasherboards system.

In 1995, the products obtained CE and ISO 9001 certifications, recognizing the establishment of its quality management system. In the following three years, the company successively expanded its markets to EU countries such as Spain, Portugal, France and Russia, as well as China.

In 2006, the company had the opportunity to supply rink boards and various accessories for ice sports events held in Turin.

In 2009, far-reaching automation of ice surface maintenance was realized. By 2011, the business had gained a firm market presence in Asian countries, Canada and the United States. In the same year, Engo evolved into a one-stop ice rink equipment supplier, providing ice resurfacing machines, dasherboards and various auxiliary materials for ice rinks.

In 2012, Engo collaborated with multiple universities to develop a flexible energy-absorbing dasherboards for the active safety of ice hockey players. This system can absorb over 80% of the impact force, effectively reducing the risks of fractures and craniocerebral injuries among professional and amateur athletes.

Engo supplied electric ice resurfacers for the IIHF World Championship held at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014, Engo developed another alternative model powered by internal combustion engines. Its ice resurfacers could also be equipped with high-efficiency eco-friendly gas engines.

In 2018, Engo joined TechnoAlpin Group. This powerful alliance integrates the professional technologies and rich experience of both parties, enables comprehensive business development in the winter sports industry, and better meets diverse customer demands in the future.

Today, Engo business has spread across the globe.
